Icecat Release Notes 156: Integration of Product Story 2.0 and Auto-generated Bullet Points in Icecat LIVE

In these Icecat Release Notes 156, we will explain the integration of Product Story version 2.0 into Icecat. Further, we describe the integration of Auto-generated Bullet Points in Icecat LIVE. Please, find here the previous Icecat Release Notes.

Integration of Product Story v2.0 into Icecat

Product story version 2.0 enables the seamless integration of a product page, as well as the seamless integration of individual content elements without the need to use frames or iframes. All the content elements are hosted by Icecat in our storage cloud and are displayed instantly via Icecat Live on the partner’s side.

The exposure of product stories on Live will be as follows: the system continues to display all product story content in one scrollable page without tabs.

Product story version 2.0 will have priority over version 1.0. The backup logic while doing granular calls will be as follows:

Firstly, by default, the system will send product story version 2.0. If it’s not available, product story version 1.0 will be used instead. Secondly, by specifying the product story version keys (v1 or v2), a partner can use a particular story version:

  • productStoryVersion=v1 – returns ProductStory v1.0 only
  • productStoryVersion=v2 – returns ProductStory v2.0 only

How about publication in XML?

The product story version 2.0 in XML is published as a .txt object.

And Publication in JSON?

A string of product story version 2.0 code is added.

Auto-generated Bullet Points in Icecat Live

As mentioned in the previous release notes, we introduced auto-generated bullet points. This new feature allows adding bullet points on category level for all the products in a specific category. In addition, we launched the integration of auto-generated bullet points into XML, JSON, and our website.

Furthermore, from now on, auto-generated bullet points will be available on Icecat LIVE as well. The logic of visibility will be the same as what we have for our own website. In other words, auto-generated bullet points will be shown via Live calls. But, in case of manually entered ones, the latter will have priority over aut-generated ones.

Other improvements in Icecat Release Notes 156:

  • Fixed a problem regarding product matching. The matching was stuck, and not be able to finish.
  • Fixed a bug regarding the marketing text for a particular product. As a result, marketing text was not visible for a Full Icecat subscriber.
  • Fixed an issue regarding copying the locale for an image. The image type was not copied correctly after copying a locale.
  • Fixed a storage issue for product stories, where the image type was not stored properly.
