Post-buy, a consumer can retrieve manuals, warranty information and leaflets via the Garanteasy app. Garanteasy is connected to the Icecat database, and gets any relevant product data after a match on a product code entered by a consumer.
EU law stipulates that a consumer has a minimum 2-year legal warranty as protection against faulty goods, or goods that don’t look or work as advertized. Therefore, the idea behind the app of the Italian platform Garanteasy is to protect consumers by keeping the receipts of their purchases, and help them to automatically monitor the warranties, and their expiration dates, on any type of consumer goods. Further, a consumer can report defects and request assistance directly via the app.
