In Dutch law, a closed period refers to a period of time during which certain securities transactions by individuals who have access to inside information are prohibited. The purpose of such closed periods is to prevent insider trading and to ensure that all investors have equal access to relevant information that could affect the market value of a security.
During a closed period, insiders are not allowed to trade in the securities of the company they are associated with. The closed period typically begins 30 days before the publication of an annual or H1 financial report and ends on the day after the publication of the report. However, periods can be shortened in practice if the respective publication is expedited.
