Asked DALL-E an abstract of a guru explaining a product
Today, a few more tests about the usefulness of Open AI’s ChatGPT for creation of marketing texts and tip texts. We selected a modern coffee maker and associated specifications.
Feeding ChatGPT with the Icecat product title of Saeco HD8751/19, which has a simple marketing text from the manufacturer, it returns with:
The Saeco HD8751/19 is a fully-automatic espresso machine that can brew coffee with the touch of a button. It has a 1.5 liter water tank capacity and integrated milk frother for cappuccinos and lattes. It has a ceramic grinders that can be adjusted to your personal taste, and a removable brewing group for easy cleaning. It also has a user-friendly interface, and a built-in cleaning program for easy maintenance. It can make both espresso and coffee.
The text is accurate but the style with repeating “It has” is a bit “junior”. It goes beyond the specs in the title, so it has access to original product data. It doesn’t say anything wrong. Only note the spelling mistake “grinders” where the reader expects the singular form. The last sentence is also too digital as espresso is also a coffee and cappuccino and latte other coffee variants.
In conclusion, ChatGPT can quickly suggest a text, but a human editor still needs to verify and check the actual wording. The same for writing background articles and chatting with clients.
A type of structured text in Icecat are the tip texts per spec. How good is ChatGPT in producing tip texts? For coffeemakers such as the Saeco above, the coffee maker type is one of the main specs:
Icecat is a website that provides product information and specifications for a wide range of consumer electronics, including coffee makers. The “type” of a coffee maker refers to the specific design or style of the appliance. For example, some common types of coffee makers include drip, single serve, and espresso machines. Each type has its own unique features and capabilities, and is designed for a specific type of coffee preparation or use.
It is a nice text but not completely correct, as the standardized values for Icecat are “Fully-auto” and “Manual”. When we add these keywords as well, ChatGPT produces a decent descriptive text:
A “fully-auto” coffee maker is a type of machine that is fully automated and requires minimal input from the user. These types of machines typically have a variety of preset functions and settings that allow you to easily brew different types of coffee with the push of a button. They also often feature programmable settings, allowing you to schedule a brew in advance, as well as have built-in grinders that grind and brew the coffee automatically.
On the other hand, “manual” coffee makers typically require more input and manual operation from the user. These types of machines may include pour-over, French press, and Moka pot, where the user controls the temperature, time, and amount of coffee grounds and water used to make the coffee. They often require manual pouring of water, timing and cleaning,
It’s important to note that the distinction between the two types can vary depending on the brand and specific model of the coffee maker.
This implies that ChatGPT is useful for generation of such tip texts.
For sufficient context, I add the category as a keyword before the spec string.
The “capacity in cups” of a coffee maker refers to the maximum amount of coffee that the machine can brew at one time. This is typically measured in standard cup sizes, such as 4 oz, 6 oz, 8 oz, and so on. The capacity of a coffee maker is an important consideration, especially if you entertain guests often, or if you have a large family. A coffee maker with a larger capacity will be able to brew more cups of coffee at one time, which can save time and effort if you need to make a lot of coffee at once.
It’s important to note that the capacity of a coffee maker can vary depending on the specific model and brand. Some coffee makers may have a capacity of 4-8 cups, while others may have a capacity of up to 12 cups or more. Additionally, it’s important to consider the size of the carafe and the size of the cups you are going to use, as this will also affect the overall capacity.
Quite lengthy, but the description is ok.
The “maximum operating pressure” of a coffee maker refers to the highest pressure that the machine can generate during the brewing process. This is measured in bars and it plays an important role in the quality of the coffee, specifically espresso.
For espresso, the ideal pressure is between 9 and 15 bars. The higher pressure allows hot water to pass through the coffee grounds faster and with more force, which can result in a stronger, more flavorful coffee. With lower pressure, the water may not pass through the coffee grounds quickly enough, resulting in a weaker, less flavorful coffee.
It is important to note that the maximum operating pressure can vary depending on the type of coffee maker, some devices may have lower pressure for drip coffee and some may have higher pressure for espresso.
In summary, a higher maximum operating pressure can result in a stronger, more flavorful coffee, but it’s important to take into consideration the type of coffee and the device you are using.
A great text. It gives a lot of details that I didn’t know about. This makes clear that ChatGPT saves a good text writer a lot of time in researching a subject.
In summary, ChatGPT is extremely useful for producing concise explanations for well-defined keywords within a structured context. But the use of ChatGPT is more problematic when it comes to writing perfect product marketing texts. So, with the right keywords producing great tip texts for specs is a piece of cake for ChatGPT.
